This blog will be a record of the trip to England taken by Ben Carney (age 12) and his Dad, Paul (age 48) from May 4 to 27, 2010 - Hiking along Hadrian's Wall (from Carlisle to Newcastle), York, Oxford and London.
Hi Ben. Sounds like you're having a blast! When you are in the East End, visiting the Tower of London, see if you can find any of these three churches, St. Anne's Limehouse or St. George-in-the-East, or St. John Bethnal Green. All of these churches were places where some of your ancestors were baptized, married or buried. Your Grandma Ruth's Great-Great-Grandpa was a shoe maker and lived on Chapman Street in about 1840. This is just east of the tower and just north of St. George-in-the-East church. Don't lose your head in the tower!!!!
